SAF-Holland updates PoD catalogue

Equipment specialist, SAF-Holland, has made ordering spare parts easier with a virtual Parts on Demand (PoD) catalogue.

The SH CONNECT app supports users in identifying and ordering the right product. Also, the digital directory is reported to comply with new EU regulations which will be effective September 2020.

“If a user needs a spare part from SAF-Holland, they can simply scan the code on the respective component with the QR reader integrated into the SH CONNECT app, which is updated continuously,” SAF-Holland said in a statement. “Within a few seconds, the corresponding product will all relevant details opens in the electronics Parts on Demand spare parts catalogue. If the user is logged into the PoD system, they can order the spare part securely and directly online on their tablet or smartphone.”

The PoD online catalogue provides an overview of SAF-Holland's product range including axle and suspension systems, fifth wheels and accessories, kingpins, landing gears and ballraces.

Special tools and drawings with part designations and order numbers are also integrated.

“With these features, Parts on Demand already meets the requirements of the new EU Directive 2018/858 on the approval and market surveillance of motor vehicles and their trailers,” said Markus Prößler, Director Product Management/Quality Aftermarket Europe at SAF-Holland.

The new regulations stipulate that manufacturers have to make information that is relevant to diagnostics, re-programming, re-initialisation or maintenance of a vehicle available online.

The spare parts from the secondary brand SAUER Quality Parts will appear in PoD from October. In addition to the typical wear parts for brake systems and air suspensions, the range of the worldwide registered brand also includes air reservoirs, landing gear, lubricants and steel rims.

In the next development phase, SAF-Holland plans to also include the products from the supplier for commercial vehicle parts V.Orlandi in the online spare parts catalogue in 2021. The Italian company, which has been part of the SAF-Holland Group since March 2018, manufactures couplings, crossmembers and drawbar eyes for trailers, other components and specialised commercial vehicles.

The virtual directory is available in 13 languages and is accessed by 3,000 users every day. PoD includes axles and their components from the last 25 years and is updated monthly.

The spare parts catalogue can be found at the SAF-Holland website in the 'Spare parts' section. The SH CONNECT app is available free of charge at the download stores for Android and iOS devices.

In other news, SAF-Holland is supplying rear drive axle suspensions for zero emission vehicles in Brazil.
