UK fleet trials reefer range, confirms bulk curtainsider order

Independent warehousing and distribution company, Willmotts Transport, has placed a major curtainsider order with Tiger Trailers and is also investing in the OEM's latest temperature-controlled products.

To date, Tiger Trailers has previously supplied Willmotts with more than 50 trailers and bodies, including double decks, urban trailers and rigids.

Willmotts Transport has a fleet of around 150 trailers, which according to Tiger Trailers, makes it one of the fastest-growing operations in the combined UK and Eire territory.

Reflecting Willmotts’ existing EN12642XL-rated curtainsiders in the firm’s ruby red livery, its latest additional order from Tiger Trailers entails galvanised chassis and end frames for enhanced strength and durability, while their non-slip plywood floors comply with the ISO1496 standard in order to meet regulations governing Willmotts’ paper-carrying operations.

Personalisation features of Willmotts Transport’s 30 new curtainsided trailers include additional internal and external LED lamps for safer operation, tool boxes, a branch guard, BPW axles, and Goodyear Fuel Saver tyres contributing towards improved levels of refinement and wear.

The South West-based haulier has also introduced to its fleet 13.6m single-temperature refrigerated solutions from Tiger Trailers’ new range in a move which provides extra versatility to Willmotts’ expansive customer list in the food and drink retail sector.

“We’ve always been very pleased with the quality and specification of Tiger Trailers’ products and the high level of service provided from the manufacturer’s teams, from sales and handover/delivery to aftercare,” said Andy Stott, Group Managing Director of Stotts Group and Managing Director of Willmotts Transport.

“We are extremely proud of our curtainsider fleet, which demonstrates their desire to match customers’ bespoke requirements from features ranging in size from tail-lifts, through to lighting and safety decals, and we had no hesitation in welcoming some of the first of Tiger’s new temperature-controlled trailers to our inventory,” he said.

Willmotts Transport is a member of Palletforce, holds Soil Association accreditation and offers 50,000-square-feet of warehousing and pallet space.

In conjunction with Lecitrailer, one of the most prominent and trusted names in refrigeratated commercial vehicles on the continent, Tiger Trailers’ new ‘Siberian’ portfolio of temperature-controlled solutions spans from home delivery vehicles and rigids to single and double deck trailers, available for purchase, through finance or via the manufacturer’s Tiger Rentals business.

“Assisting Willmotts has always been a pleasure and they have become a cherished customer of ours,” said Tiger Trailers Business Development Director, Stephen Pollock.

“It’s rewarding to work with such a large operator with diverse load requirements, as evidenced through our steps to meet paper transportation regulations, and with a team that is so passionate about their trailers, trucks and other vehicles.

“We thank Willmotts for their loyalty to Tiger and look forward to our new refrigerated trailers playing their role in the company’s operations at a time when logistics key workers are receiving deserved attention.”

Last month, P&B Foods invested in a Tiger Trailers curtainsider.
