Rental company, BS Trailer Services, has placed a £2 million (approx. €2.2 million) order for new equipment as part of an ongoing fleet replacement program.
The deal between BS Trailers Managing Director, Oliver Moore, and SDC UK Sales Manager, Matt Kerrison, was signed January this year.
The order includes SDC’s EN-XL rated Freespan straight-frame curtainsiders in various overall heights to suit BS Trailer’s bespoke specification and double deck curtainsiders featuring a Pallet Network specification with fuel-saving roof, steel mesh second decks and wrap-around rear curtains as well as BS Trailer’s own additions for maximum safety and performance.
“We are very pleased to announce the £2 million investment with SDC as our supplier for 2020,” said Moore.
“We have seen a significant demand in the market for our trailers and the addition of new Freespan and double-deck curtainsiders will reinforce our service offering, providing quality equipment in critical timeframes.
“We have worked with SDC trailers for over 20 years and they offer an extremely high-quality product with the added value of a bespoke specification to suit our requirements. We opted for the Freespan Curtainsider model with clear aperture and easy-roll curtain-rail technology for enhanced efficiency, safety and productivity,” he said.
The new fleet will be delivered to BS Trailers' headquarters in Leighton Buzzard throughout 2020 and will make up part of its 2,000 strong trailer fleet. In addition to leasing, hire and sales, BS Trailers provide 24-hour fleet management and fleet maintenance packages.
Last month, Paul Bratton, President of SDC Trailers, released a statement on the OEM's Covid-19 response to customers, suppliers and colleagues.
