China approves WABCO and ZF merger

Technology company, WABCO, and German transmission specialist, ZF Friedrichshafen, are due to close their merger this week.

WABCO and ZF announced earlier this month that the Chinese State Administration for Market Regulation provided regulatory clearance for their merger.

All required regulatory approvals have now been received and WABCO and ZF expect to close the merger on 29 May 2020, subject to the satisfaction of all other closing conditions.

In March 2019, ZF announced the merger with WABCO as part of a €7 billion deal.
