Meiller restarts production in Germany

Tipper specialist, Meiller, has recommenced assembly at both of its sites in Munich and Karlsruhe.

The majority of employees in production have since returned to their workplaces.

“Our colleagues are delighted that things are finally starting up again,” said Meiller Head of Production, Dr Sebastian Simon.

“Work had continued unabated for the team responsible for securing the spare parts supply and in service,” he said.

The company implemented comprehensive protective measures and extensive hygienic and physical distancing regulations to protect all employees in as far as possible from infection due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Meiller is very well prepared and awaiting delivery of chassis from different automotive manufacturers who, in the main, have also restarted production,” said Meiller Chairman of the Board, Dr Daniel Böhmer.

“Our steel structural components will be ready for fitting at short notice,” he said.

The facility at the new location in Oed, Austria, had already recommenced operations a week earlier on 27 April 2020.

Earlier this year, volunteer firefighters said robust road transport equipment like Meiller's RS21 hooklift provides specialised assistance where it is needed.
