Wielton Group resumes production in France

French company, Fruehauf, part of the Wielton Group, is gradually reactivating its production activities as of 27 April 2020 following a flattening of the coronavirus incidence curve in France.

The gradual nature of the reactivation of production results from the need to adapt the crew's work process to sanitary requirements, including the obligation to maintain appropriate distances between employees. Production capacity will be restored by starting work on subsequent shifts.

“After a little over a month's break we return to production in France,” said Mariusz Golec, President of the Management Board of Wielton.

“This market is the largest in terms of product sales for the Wielton Group.

“Fruehauf is the undisputed market leader with 20 per cent participation.

“At the same time, gradual resumption will take place under high sanitary rigor,” he said. “This will ensure the safety of our crew. We also monitor the situation in terms of the possibility of resuming production at our other plants. We are full of optimism.”

Production in France ceased on 18 March 2020. The decision was based on the security procedures implemented by the French Government. At the same time, Fruehauf continued its work, including sales centre, warranty and after-sales service and spare parts department.

Earlier this year, Golec met with Global Trailer to discuss the Group's development plans following ongoing success with strategic acquisitions and geographical diversification.
