Talson launches innovative swap body at Transport Logistic 2019

Netherlands-based OEM, Talson, debuted its latest aluminium swap body earlier this month at Transport Logistic 2019 in Munich, Germany.

The environmentally friendly 7.45 Aluminium Swap Body T.SWAU BK is reported to be a quality build that is lightweight and robust.

Talson’s T.SWAU BK is on average around 750kg lighter than other products on the market and is said to allow greater load capacity – improving operational costs and enabling fuel savings as it contributes to the reduction of CO2, in line with EU sustainability targets.

The T.SWAU BK features an innovative self-supporting box body construction, manufactured by using a special aluminium sandwich design, according to Talson. In addition, modular aluminium side panels made of six separate
plates are riveted to aluminium omega profiles allowing cheap and fast repair when required.

The OEM said damaged panels can easily and immediately be replaced instead of changing the entire box side, providing low-cost and fast repair. The lightweight high-quality aluminium provides good UV resistance (non-yellowing) and aging resistance and is easy to clean due to low dirt adhesion.

The T.SWAU BK is fitted with the multi-functional, patented Talflix load securing system inside the panels, featuring multiple holes to enable multiple carriage-loading models in one box.

“A component of patented Talfix load securing system, the double deck bar with 1 daN capacity each allows creating a second tier inside the vehicle for maximum carrying capacity,” said Talson.

“Talfix is suitable for double-deck applications enabling multi-level loading with 700 kg capacity per 1m.

“Another component of patented robust aluminum Talfix load securing system inside panels, the garment bar allows garments to be hanged inside the trailer with ease. The bars also lock into place providing extra load
security.

“Double deck system, garment hanging, and extra load security provide multifunctional usage of the vehicle while increasing operational flexibility and return on investment.”

For easier loading and unloading, the T.SWAU BK is fitted with a roller shutter door.

Talson said its swap bodies are designed to be stacked. “Corner protections at the top enable moving via cranes, including four corner casting and four hugepack grips for intermodal transportation.”

Earlier this year, Talson incorporated Van Eck.
