Fardel Shipping freight forwarding partner, Hedges Distribution, has specified two Krone Cool Liners to manage its temperature-controlled logistics contracts.
“We had previously rented Krone trailers and noticed that the construction was of a higher quality than similar units on the market,” said Hedges Distribution Managing Director, Ciaron Reynolds. “And this has proved ideal for the hard-working retail and groupage work which we undertake throughout the UK. Also, our drivers provided very positive feedback.”
Manufactured by Krone in Lubtheen, Germany, the Cool Liner bodies are strengthened with the use of Duoplex steel outer skins and heavy-duty aluminium floor. Also, the chassis is constructed using double T longitudinal beams and a Z-profile rear traverse section with diagonal reinforcements for extra rigidity.
Delta-shaped buffers fitted across the rear frame and steel, along with roll-compression impact buffers mounted on either side of the Cool Liner, are reported to provide additional protection for the reefer when docking to loading bays.
The rear doors are of ‘container-type‘ design, while the loading security certificate complies with European standard, EN 12642 Code XL, for better security.
Also, with low-maintenance and longevity in mind, Hedges Distribution specified Krone axles with drum brakes. The running gear comes with Krone’s six-year unlimited mileage warranty.
