ConMet announces leadership change

US-based OEM, ConMet, has named John Waters as President, succeeding Mike Swiderski who held the position since 2014 and elected to retire.

Waters has served ConMet for 27 years in various leadership roles prior to his appointment, including Interim President, Senior Vice President of Sales and Operations, and Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

“Mr. Waters has an intimate knowledge of the company’s strategy, people, products, and customers,” said Amsted Industries President and CEO, Steve Smith.

“I am confident he will guide ConMet to new heights and lead exciting business development initiatives,” he said.

“I am excited and honoured to take on this new role,” Waters said of the transition. “I look forward to working closely with colleagues and strategic partners to advance ConMet’s efforts in developing innovative solutions that support our customers and address the industry’s most critical needs.”

Last year, ConMet launched its second production facility in China.
