Equipment service provider, TIP Trailer Services, is due to open its first Safe and Secure Truck Parking Area (SSTPA) in France this April.
The site is located 30km south of Lille, at the junction of A1/E17 and the A21 – reportedly the busiest road junction in Europe with more than 25,000 trucks passing through the area daily.
TIP said the SSTPA will help secure the flow of merchandise and improve vehicle operator safety.
The car park will feature 150 spaces for drivers to rest as well as 24/7 security with human presence, thermal camera surveillance, truck and pedestrian access control as well as rest area services such as showers, restaurant, Wi-Fi access and laundry facilities.
The SSTPA is part of a 7-hectare multi-service truck centre, including a TIP branch for trailer rental and workshop for mechanical and bodywork repairs and a ‘Best of Pneu’ branch for tyre maintenance.
