Leadership change at Meiller

German tipper specialist, Meiller, has announced the appointment of a new technical Managing Director, Dr Sebastian Simon.

He will assume responsibility for business development and design engineering, order management and logistics including export control, vehicle construction, the performance centre for hydraulic systems as well as product safety and homologation.

Simon will also be co-director of FX Meiller Slaný (Czech Republic).

Up until October 2018, Simon was employed as Managing Director for Technics and Finances at Palfinger Platforms. Since 2015, he has, according to Meiller, successfully re-aligned the business unit lifting platforms and sustainably increased market shares in important segments.

Simon obtained his diploma in industrial engineering at the TU Darmstadt. His professional career began at the international strategy consulting company McKinsey & Company where he advised clients from the automotive and engineering sectors from 2003 until 2006. After that he was in charge of varying divisions at the Bosch Rexroth AG (management of production planning in the tail unit hydraulic drives in Neu-Ulm, management of logistics of hydraulic drives for mobile applications and wind energy in Beijing and management of the staff section for bench marking and restructuring in Lohr am Mai, Germany).

Earlier this year,  Meiller developed the 44 Light Series, boasting tare weights of up to 4,360kg.
