XPO Logistics disrupts transport sector

US-based logistics company, XPO Logistics, has joined FreightWaves’ 2018 Freight.Tech 100 list for being a technologically disruptive force in the transportation industry.

FreightWaves is a digital resource for data, news and commentary about the North American freight market.

“We’re honoured to be named to the Freight.Tech 100 for advancing supply chain efficiency through innovation,” said XPO Logistics Chief Information Officer, Mario Harik.

“We’re delivering the future of transportation and logistics today through machine learning, predictive analytics, marketplace digitalisation and other cutting-edge technologies that support our customers’ growth,” he said.

More than 500 nominations were submitted for the 2018 Freight.Tech 100. The 100 companies that earned a place on the list will ultimately be narrowed to the Freight.Tech 25 in November, as determined by an independent panel of industry executives, academics and investors.

In August, XPO Logistics opened its first hub in Canada for last mile distribution.
