Tiger Trailers secures first time order from H.Parkinson Haulage

UK-based business, H. Parkinson Haulage (HPH), has praised Tiger Trailers’ “refreshing approach to customer service” after taking delivery of its first Tiger-built curtain-siders, with 23 tri-axle models joining its 150-strong trailer fleet.

The new 13.6 metre trailers will be predominantly used to carry paper reels, with Tiger creating a custom load restraint solution which can be easily stowed when not required to provide flexibility for other load types. Three of the trailers have also been engineered with a completely removable restraint system, enabling the safe carriage of aluminium kegs for brewery work, when required.

Tiger Trailers’ consultative approach saw its team conduct a series of site visits to HPH’s facility to ensure that the development, engineering and build of the trailers would meet the customer’s exact requirements.

“We were delighted with Tiger Trailers’ refreshing approach to customer service at all stages,” said HPH Director, Steve Sugden.

“Following site visits they provided us with prototype designs which showed smart thinking and a fresh approach, and then regular updates once the build got underway.

“We were reassured every step of the way that Tiger understood our specific needs; indeed, the delivery of the trailers has proven our decision to award the order was the right one,” he said.

The EN12642 XL certified trailers feature a hot dip galvanised chassis and body requiring no painting and providing long term corrosion protection, plus an over beam floor design meeting ISO1496 standards and perfectly suited to the carriage of paper reels and general pallets. Other key components include Tiger’s sleek aerodynamic front panel with inner-strap stowage facility, SAF drum brake axles, Jost heavy-duty landing legs, Goodyear Fuelmax tyres and InfiniShield UV-resistant curtains for maximum durability.

The curtain-siders are expected to stay in operation for 10 years and will be on the road seven days a week. They are finished in HPH’s striking new livery – becoming some of the first trailers in the company’s fleet to feature its updated branding.

As well as Tiger’s ability to build the trailers to the customer’s precise requirements, key to securing this conquest deal was the quality of Tiger’s manufacturing operation.

“We visited the factory prior to placing the order and we went away seriously impressed with what we saw,” said Sugden. “The care and attention going into every trailer on the production line was obvious; it gave us the confidence to award our business to Tiger and we haven’t been disappointed. I can see us specifying more Tigers in the future.”
