Hellmann extends contract with solar panel business

Hellmann Worldwide Logistics Netherlands and Norwegian-headquartered REC Group (REC) have extended their cooperation in Rotterdam, Netherlands, for another three years until 2021.

REC is the largest European brand of solar panels. Hellmann and REC have been working together in a long-term partnership since 2013, where Hellmann is providing the full range of its logistics service portfolio – from sea freight, drayage, warehousing and stock management control, outbound distribution, fiscal representation as well as innovative IOT tools along their entire supply chain.

Hellmann provides its services for REC from its European Control Tower in Rotterdam. With a storage area of around 40,000m² and handling capacity of more than 100 FTL/FCL shipments per day, the Rotterdam Control Tower is one of the four global logistics hubs from which Hellmann provides its services exclusively to customers from the Renewable Energy sector. The other Control Towers are located in Dubai, Shanghai and New York.

“Hellmann understands the needs of the solar industry, the dynamic of our business and the implications this has on Supply Chain Management,” said REC Senior Logistics Manager, Tan Song. “We know we can always count on the quality of their services and this peace of mind is invaluable to our day-to-day business. We are therefore very pleased to continue to have Hellmann alongside REC as our partner for logistics services.”

Hellmann Worldwide Logistics claims to be one the leading global logistics providers for the solar industry and has continuously grown in that sector –developing a smart, agile business model around the globally growing solar industry, supported by a tailor-made IT infrastructure and offering a synchronised global value added services portfolio.

“The solar industry is a very important sector for Hellmann,” said Hellmann Worldwide Logistics Chief Operating Officer, Robert Bommers. “In order to continue to grow in this area, we have built up a first-class global service network with the Control Towers. In the individual hubs, we bundle all logistics services that are in demand in the industry across the entire supply chain.”
