Mainfreight opens logistics facility in Belgium

Transport and logistics company, Mainfreight, is opening its third facility in Ghent, Belgium, following investments in Genk and Evergem.

According to Mainfreight, this new crossdock centre is 10,000 square metres and will provide international freight consolidation services and national distribution.

“With the development of this business park we provide additional space in Ghent for both knowledge-intensive businesses in biotech, and logistics and distribution companies,” Mainfreight said in a statement.

“That is good for employment in Ghent.

“This new crossdock centre is the beginning of an important chapter in the development of Mainfreight in Belgium. The new site gives us the chance to operate from a very good location to optimise our service and flexibility for our customers. Through this major investment, Mainfreight will also realise a decrease in carbon dioxide emissions continuing our goal of investing further in sustainability.”
