Ryder executives to present at supply chain conference

US commercial fleet management company, Ryder, is the Premier Sponsor of the Automotive Logistics Supply Chain Conference, which will be held 21-23 May at the Grand Hyatt, Atlanta.

The Conference will focus on digitalisation, warehousing, visibility, and the current state of North America’s inbound and aftermarket parts sector.

Steve Martin, Ryder Vice President and General Manager for the Automotive, Aerospace, and Industrial business, will be a speaker at the conference’s third session ‘Clearing the Bottlenecks’, which will focus on ways technology can help overcome perennial pain points, such as driver and transport capacity shortages, lost containers, poor forecasting, and incomplete visibility.

Rich Mohr, Vice President and Global Product Manager for Ryder Truck Rental, will present at Session four, ‘Automotive Logistics Think Tanks’, which will cover a wide range of topics, including the ‘Uberisation’ of logistics.

Mohr will reportedly talk about the phenomenon of the sharing economy that is occurring across all industries and specifically Ryder’s recent launch of COOP by Ryder, the first ever peer-to-peer platform for commercial vehicle sharing that allows companies to list and rent idle commercial vehicles.

Last month, Ryder, reported over €250 million in e-commerce logistics revenues.
