Schmitz Cargobull Romania appoints new Managing Director

Schmitz Cargobull’s Romanian subsidiary has appointed Roland Schacht to the OEM’s Board of Management.

As the new Managing Director, the experienced automotive manager is now in charge of Schmitz Cargobull operations and sales in Romania, Greece, Cyprus and the Republic of Moldova.

“Roland W. Schacht is an expert in the transport and commercial vehicles industry and will enhance our team with his comprehensive knowledge of sales and management skills,” said Schmitz Cargobill Chief Sales Officer, Boris Billich. “We are very pleased he has joined Schmitz Cargobull, and are looking forward to working with him to further develop our business in Romania and in the wider region.”

With more than 25 years of experience in the automotive industry, Schacht started his career with a focus on marketing and management, working in leading roles for many successful multinational companies. Before joining Schmitz Cargobull as Managing Director for Romania, Greece, Cyprus and the Republic of Moldova, Schacht held a leading position at MAN Truck & Bus Eastern Europe/CIS.

Schmitz Cargobull is one of Europe's leading manufacturer of semi-trailers, truck bodies and trailers for temperature-controlled freight, general cargo and bulk goods, and in Romania market leader with more than a 50 per cent market share in the semi-trailer sector. Schacht will focus on further strengthening this position.
