Ryder welcomes new director

US commercial fleet management company, Ryder, has appointed its new Director of Engineering – UK.

Ryder said in a statement that Shaun Stephenson has re-joined the company, after leaving the business as Head of Operations in 2012, to ensure it has the expertise and infrastructure to maintain its technological and engineering excellence.

Stephenson has reportedly held senior fleet roles at major truck operators – most recently Director of Fleet at G4S and, prior to that, Director of Fleet at Bidvest Logistics. He has also worked for Biffa and Arla Foods. He was President of the Society of Operations Engineers, concluding a two-year term in July 2017, and is also a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Carmen.

“I’m delighted to be re-joining Ryder at such an exciting and challenging time for transport and logistics,” said Stephenson.

“I look forward to leading Ryder’s dialogue with our OEM partners and engaging with our customers on emerging technology and environmentally friendly transport solutions,” he said.

“I’m delighted to welcome back Shaun,” said Ryder Vice President and Managing Director – FMS Europe, David Hunt. “He brings with him a wealth of operational fleet experience that can only enhance our service to our customers as the industry goes through substantial technological changes.”
