William ‘Bill’ Ellis has been named Managing Director of Phillips Connect Technologies (PCT), a new division of US-based Phillips Industries with a focus on telematics and sensor technology.
Prior to joining PTC, Ellis was a partner at Keystone Transportation Solutions, a transportation service provider to international commodity traders on the Inland Port of Virginia.
“In his new position, Bill will rely on his experience, his proven ability at cultivating and growing new relationships and his fit with Phillips philosophy of family values, hard work and listening to our customers,” commented Rob Phillips, President and COO of Phillips Industries.
According to Phillips Industries, PCT is currently developing “several different packages of products” that will offer the company’s patent-pending plug and play connectivity.
“Sensor data can be transmitted to the driver, to the fleet’s operations team, or even the trailer OEM utilising various telematics options,” the company explained.
PTC was first launched at the American Trucking Associations' (ATA) Technology & Maintenance Council's (TMC) 2017 Annual Meeting and Transportation Technology Exhibition in Nashville, Tennessee, in March.
