French trailer builder, Lamberet, in partnership with Novacom Europe, has developed an integrated telematics system for its range of refrigerated trailers called Frigomatics.
The all-in-one solution combines the a semi-trailer, refrigeration unit, and on-board telematics to with the use of various sensors to capture and analyse data such as GPS, temperature, error codes, tyre pressure and door open/close status, and transmit the information to the Novacom server in real time.
It can also link in to the trailer's electronic brake system to collect data on mileage, axle load and brake wear.
The system is compatible with both Carrier and Thermo King refrigeration units, and can be retrofitted on to Frigomatics trailers of any age or model to provide the same benefits for older vehicles.
According to Lamberet, the system is suitable for a temperature range of -40°C to 85°C and is designed with Lithium batteries as a backup, that can power the system for two months if the trailer is not supplied with power.
