Women In Trucking celebrates 10 years

US-based organisation, Women In Trucking Association (WIT), is celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2017, with Ellen Voie, WIT President and CEO, taking the opportunity to thank its partners for helping it raise awareness over the last decade.

The association continues to pursue its mission: encouraging women to consider careers in the trucking industry, addressing obstacles that might keep them from succeeding, and celebrating the success of its members.

The association receives support from trucking companies and trailer builders including Great Dane, which has just renewed its Gold Level Partnership for the fifth year running.

According to WIT, in addition to providing financial support, Great Dane actively participates in the association, with Brandie Fuller, Great Dane Vice President, Marketing, serving on the WIT Board Of Directors.

“Great Dane recognises the value of a diverse work environment,” said Fuller.

“Diversity promotes creativity, innovation and different ways of thinking. By encouraging women to join this traditionally male-dominated industry, Women In Trucking is empowering women while also helping to bring fresh ideas and new solutions to the problems our industry faces every day. Great Dane is proud to continue to support Women In Trucking and this important mission.”

“We’re grateful to business leaders like Great Dane for their support in helping to raise awareness of the need for more women in the transportation industry – both as professional drivers and corporate leaders,” said Voie.

“Women In Trucking has made great strides in the past ten years. Partnerships like these will help us to continue to engage more women at every level in the industry.”
