Safest trailer plants in the US revealed

The Truck Trailer Manufacturers Association (TTMA) has presented its 2016 Plant Safety awards, with Great Dane, Wabash National and Manac USA all honoured.

Now in its 46th year, TTMA Plant Safety Award winners are selected based on injury data from US government agency, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and were presented at the TTMA’s 75th Annual Convention in Florida this April.

Awards are categorised based on the number of man hours worked. Great Dane's Brazil plant won in Category A, having amassed a total of 2.4 million hours without a lost time incident in 2016.

Great Dane also won in Category B for plants that reported between 300,000 and 750,000 man-hours for its Danville, Pennsylvania plant, as did Wabash National's New Lisbon, Wisconsin, operation.

Wabash operations in San José Iturbide, Guanajuato, Mexico, as well as Manac USA, won in Category C for plants that reported fewer than 300,000 man-hours.
