Pressure Systems International acquires Truck System Technologies

US company Pressure Systems International (PSI) has acquired Truck System Technologies (TST), a provider of tyre pressure monitoring and mobile asset management systems technology.

Tim Musgrave, President and CEO of PSI, commented, “We see the TST acquisition as a perfect complement to our automatic tyre inflation systems.”

According to Musgrave, the acquisition is especially important in light of the US Greenhouse Gas Phase 2 regulation, which will come into effect from 2018.

“Under GHG-2 there will be increasing demands for reduction of emissions, and tyre pressure monitoring technology is viewed as a primary solution for the tyre management of trucks and tractors,” he said.

“The TST product line includes telematics and tracking solutions that will provide fleet management teams the ability to locate assets and track various inputs of their choosing.”

Kevin Hennig, Vice President of Product Development and Technical Sales at PSI, added that the company had used TST’s technology before to test its own automatic tyre inflation system.

“It was the solid performance of the TPMS and the ease of use of the asset tracking solutions that ultimately led us to consider them a good fit with our company.”
