SAF-Holland to open €15 million factory in Turkey

German axle producer Saf Holland has opened a factory in Düzce, Turkey, with production to start in March, according to a local news source.

The Dünya Daily reported the new SAF-Holland factory will have its opening ceremony on 28 March, and will make Turkey a regional hub in axle production.

SAF-Holland reportedly entered the Turkish market in 2011 with an office in Istanbul and announced it would further invest in the region by opening a new factory and moving its office to Düzce in August 2016.

SAF-Holland Turkey General Manager, Bilal Azizoğlu, told the newspaper that the €15 million factory has been built on an area of 13,00m2, with 10,000m2 undercover.

According to the Dünya Daily, Saf Holland has agreements with trailer OEMs Tırsan, Krone, Serin, Koluman, Otokar for axle supply for the region, and will export axles to the Middle East, Africa and South Africa.
