Changes within BPW global structure

German transport equipment specialist, BPW Group, has announced a series of acquisitions and divestments within the Group in an effort to strengthen the core of the business.

BPW has acquired a majority stake in Exporient Middle East, a commercial vehicle spare parts and product trading company based in the Jebel Ali Free Zone in Dubai.

According to BPW, the two companies have been collaborating successfully for 40 years. Hani Rashid, Managing Director of Exporient Middle East, said he was delighted with the opportunity to cooperate more closely. In particular, BPW Group's spare parts trading activities, spearheaded by the brands Trailerline and PE Automotive, are to be stepped up in the Middle East.

“Membership of BPW Group gives us the best possible platform for further growth. In future we can offer an even broader range of truck and trailer components as well as additional services from the Group's portfolio,” said Rashid.

Achim Kotz, Managing General Partner of BPW Bergische Achsen, added, “We have identified fresh opportunities for growth in the region and are therefore extending our OEM and aftermarket businesses with a reliable local partner.”

Uwe Frielingsdorf, another BPW Managing General Partner, added, “For us as an international mobility partner, the partnership with Exporient Middle East marks a key expansion of our footprint and reflects our strategy of ensuring operators a seamless supply of spare parts.”

In Germany, running gear specialist DexKo Global has acquired BPW Fahrzeugtechnik, a wholly-owned subsidiary of BPW Bergische Achsen focussed on low axle load trailer running gear.

Markus Schell, General Partner of BPW Bergische Achsen, said, “All parties will benefit from this agreement. Within the BPW Group, we will be able to now focus on our core business, the development of system solutions and services for goods transport and logistics. The staff of BPW Fahrzeugtechnik, along with AL-KO Vehicle Technology, will continue to be part of a globally active, long-established company with a long-term strategic focus.”

Fred Bentley, CEO at DexKo Globa, stated, “We look forward to being able to access the proven expertise of BPW Fahrzeugtechnik. True to our corporate theme “together is better”, we will be utilizing the available synergies to continue the dynamic, further development of our companies.”
