Organisers optimistic about 2017 CV Show

The UK’s largest road transport event, the annual Commercial Vehicle (CV) Show in Birmingham, is poised for growth in 2017.

According to Nigel Base, Commercial Vehicle Manager at the Society of Motor Manufacturers & Traders (SMMT), show organisers have already expanded the floor space by 10 per cent to accommodate rising demand.

“We expect numbers to exceed the 21,000 that attended the 2016 show,” he said in a brief forward-looking statement.

“The CV Show promises visitors the opportunity to fulfil all of their sourcing needs under one roof,” commented CV Show Director, Rob Skelton.

“In 2017, the show is significantly bigger and we look forward to building yet again on visitor numbers.”

The announcement comes on the back of UK consultancy, Clear International, announcing that the UK market could be headed for difficulties in 2017 – with a negative outlook for investment growth likely to affect trailer sales.

This year, the CV Show will take place from 25-27 April.
