The US trailer buying season has kicked off with a surge in trailer orders, according to ACT Research.
“Driven mostly by dry vans, November net orders climbed 71 per cent month-over-month,” said Frank Maly, Director for CV Transportation Analysis and Research at ACT, adding that a drop in cancellations also helped boost November sales.
While dry vans were nearly equivalent to year-ago levels, however, total trailer orders for the month still trailed last November by seven percentage points.
“Year-to-date net orders are down one-third from 2015 volume,” said Maly.
