Transmec puts large-scale Kögel order into service

Italian transport company, Transmec Group, has taken delivery of 30 new curtain-sider trailers designed and built by Kögel.

According to Transmec Group, the new Cargo Rail curtain-siders also feature Kögel’s FlexiUse body and RoRo equipment. Kögel’s Cargo Rail also includes new double codification for trailers without drop sides designed to provide more space and flexibility due to the height-adjustable body.

“The body of the Transmec semi-trailers includes 12 front settings, each adjustable by 25 mm, and four rear settings, each adjustable by 50 mm,” Kögel said.

“This means that the body heights can be independently adjusted by 300 mm at the front and 200 mm at the rear. This allows everyday goods transport with an internal height of 2,700 mm to 2,800 mm at the front and 2,600 mm to 2,800 mm at the rear.

“The closing support bow on the roof ensures that the aluminium back wall portal double door with optimised door seal, which is a standard fitting for the Cargo with FlexiUse body, is adjusted to the respective body height.”

If the trailers are required for unaccompanied boat and ferry transport, then the RoRo equipment can boast an 8mm thick closed slide plate and four pairs of heavy-duty lashing rings.
