Aramex and Australia Post form joint venture

Dubai-based logistics provider Aramex has announced that it intends to sell its Sydney-based MailCall Couriers to Australia Post’s StarTrack Courier, and form a Joint Venture with Australia Post.

According to Aramex, the JV will target the global e-commerce market, with a particular focus on Asia. This joint venture intends to acquire Australia Post’s StarTrack International global e-commerce postal solutions business and build on the service capability of such business.

Hussein Hachem, CEO of Aramex, said: “We are delighted to announce this joint venture with Australia Post, and we look forward to combining our resources and expertise to build a compelling global e-commerce delivery platform.”

Ahmed Fahour, MD and Group CEO of Australia Post, said: “This alliance with Aramex will help us grow the Australian e-commerce market, capturing more inbound e-commerce parcel volumes and will provide a platform for outbound growth, particularly for Australian small businesses.”
