Demand for new commercial vehicles in the EU increased for the 16th consecutive month in April, according to the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA).
Total commercial vehicle registrations reportedly grew by 14.6 per cent, totalling 195,013 units, ACEA said.
“Growth was sustained across all segments of commercial vehicles,” the Association explained.
“Looking at the largest markets, Italy recorded the highest upturn (+32.5 per cent) followed closely by Spain (+19.5 per cent), Germany (+12.3 per cent) and the UK (+11.2 per cent).”
In the first four months of the year, the EU market expanded by 12.8 per cent, totalling 758,566 commercial vehicles. During that period, Italy (+29.2 per cent), Spain (+12.9 per cent), France (+10.1 per cent), Germany (+10.0 per cent) and the UK (+4.1 per cent) all posted growth.
