Pitts Trailers, the 13th largest trailer manufacturer in the US, is celebrating its 40th year in business this month.
Founded in 1976 by Andrew Pitts in Eastern Alabama, Pitts started off servicing the local logging market before the establishment of a dedicated dealer network saw it grow into what it is believed to be the largest forestry and fixed neck lowboy manufacturer in the US.
Now run by second-generation owner, Jeff Pitts, the company can boast five manufacturing facilities spread across 70 acres in Pittsview and Elba, Alabama.
The company has more than 450 staff members, who are also stockholders in the business. “Our people make the critical difference separating us from all competitors, and as stockholders our people will lead this company into the future,” said Jeff Pitts, CEO of Pitts Enterprises, to celebrate the company’s anniversary.
