Melbourne Leaders Summit adds to speaker list

Australia’s only international transport industry leadership event – the Global Heavy Vehicle Leaders Summit – is rapidly taking shape.

With little more than a month to go until the landmark event in Melbourne – again presented by Foundation Sponsors BP – the Australian Road Transport Suppliers’ Association (ARTSA) continues to add to an already impressive line-up.

Alongside European fleet executive, Peter Sijs of TIP Trailer Services, US sales expert Tim Walker of Truck Lite and Kässbohrer board member, Iffet Turken; renowned analyst Gary Beecroft from UK consultancy Clear will speak in Melbourne and share insights on the European marketplace with the audience.

The line-up will also include Rachel Johnston, Global Fuels Technology Manager (ANZ) at BP Australia and Charlie Macdonald, Manufacturing Transport and Logistics Industry Executive, Industry Development, at Telstra.

Also speaking will be Phil Bixley, Fleet Manager, Heavy Vehicles at Fonterra Co-operative Group; and Nick Huchin, National Facilities Manager at Lion.

Managing 542 milk tankers, 14 workshop and 170 maintenance staff with fiscal accountabilities of over NZ$130million (A$115), Fonterra’s Phil Bixley will add to the program’s fleet focus, while Johnston will give an insight into her role as head of BP’s team of chemists and technologist across Australia and New Zealand.

Charlie Macdonald, meanwhile, will share his views on how disruptive technologies will change the future of the transport and logistics industry.

“The line-up for the 2016 is spectacular and will provide a window into the game changing activities that are occurring in the heavy vehicle market around the world,” commented ARTSA Chairman Dr Peter Hart. “Tickets are selling fast so make sure you secure your spot today to meet these incredibly talented game changers in person.”

The 2016 Global Heavy Vehicle Leaders Summit will take place on 3-4 May in Melbourne, ahead of the International Truck, Trailer & Equipment Show (ITTES).
