UK transport company expands double-deck fleet

Buffaload Logistics, one of the UK’s largest double-deck temperature-controlled trailer operators, has completed a 15-trailer fleet expansion.

The 13.6m tri-axle Gray & Adams double-deck refrigerated trailers are fitted with Carrier Transicold’s Vector 1950 system and will join the Cambridgeshire-based logistics provider’s 140-strong fleet, which already includes over 100 temperature-controlled trailers with mezzanine decks.

“We already operate a number of Carrier Transicold units in our fleet, and we’re confident the Vector 1950 units will help us continue to deliver,” Graham Usher, Sales Director at Buffaload, commented on the spec.

“Our drivers find Carrier Transicold units easy to operate, which helps to streamline our day-to-day operations and keep everything running on time. [That way] we can maximise capacity in our double-deck trailers, while minimizing reefer unit downtime and protecting the cold chain.”

According to Usher, Buffaload counts supermarket chains among its clients. It also says it operates the largest short-term rental fleet of temperature-controlled double-deck and urban multi-temperature trailers in the country.
