Dr Dieter Wilhelm, Executive Board member responsible for the Rail Vehicle Systems division of Knorr-Bremse AG, will retire from the Board as of June 30, 2016.
Until further notice, Chairman of the Executive Board, Klaus Deller (pictured), will assume Rail Vehicle Systems duties in addition to his role, said Knorr-Bremse.
Wilhelm has been a member of the Executive Board since July 1, 2003 and is responsible for the global activities of the Rail Vehicle Systems division of Knorr-Bremse.
“Dr Wilhelm has played a decisive part in the development and growth of the Rail Vehicle Systems division, particularly in Asia,” said Heinz Hermann Thiele, proprietor and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Knorr-Bremse AG.
“We wish to thank him for his more than 17 years of successful activities on behalf of our company, including 13 years as a member of the Executive Board, and also for his readiness to take retirement one year later than originally planned. We also wish to thank Mr Deller, who will now take interim charge of this division.”
Wilhelm will reportedly retain his links with Knorr-Bremse and continue to support the company in an advisory capacity.
