Australia’s only international transport industry leadership event – the Global Heavy Vehicle Leadership Summit – is rapidly taking shape, according to the Australian Road Transport Suppliers’ Association (ARTSA).
With only two months to go, tickets for the landmark event in Melbourne – again presented by Foundation Sponsors BP – are selling fast, according to the Association, not least fuelled by the announcement that European fleet executive, Peter Sijs of TIP Trailer Services, will give a keynote presentation.
Sijs will be speaking alongside US sales expert, Tim Walker of Truck Lite, and local industry personalities Gerard Waldron (ARRB) and Brendan Richards (Ferrier Hodgson).
“Breaking the news that these high-profile personalities will join us has boosted ticket sales,” said ARTSA Chairman Dr Peter Hart. “Let’s face it – Peter Sijs alone is worth the cover charge. Every year, he buys more equipment than the entire Australian market combined, so his word has weight.
“Coupled with his deep technical understanding and strong future vision, I think he will help us get a whole new perspective on truck and trailer design, technology and management.”
A second group of keynote speakers will reportedly be announced next week, and is likely to include a high-ranking trailer OEM executive as well as a leading authority in the forecasting and industry intelligence space.
