German axle specialist, Gigant, has announced the second expansion of its Dinklage facility in just three years.
According to company officials, the €5 million investment has been necessary to respond to increased market demand and is part of Gigant’s internal g300 strategy, which will see it produce 300 axles per day by 2018.
“We are on a very good path to fully meet our plan. The company will be able to properly meet the future needs of our customers and will optimise the processing and delivery times for numerous products,” explained Managing Director, Markus Gehle (pictured) – pointing out the project will add some 3,200m2 of floor space to Gigant’s main facility in the west of Germany.
“Along with the relocation of the current assembly line, there will be a new automated line for the assembly of standard axles.
“In addition, there will be larger, more modern social facilities for the
employees, a waiting area for drivers from external service providers as well as offices and meeting rooms.”
Gehle explained that Gigant has been able to “continuously increase” its production volume and staff count over the past few years, with further growth anticipated until 2018 and beyond.
