Russian fleet embraces BPW’s one-stop-shop concept

Moscow-based transport company Sovtrastavto has taken delivery of two German-made Fliegl trailers that are fully fitted with BPW equipment.

According to the German OE supplier, the delivery marks a milestone on the company’s journey to become a ‘system solutions’ provider covering all aspects of modern trailer development.

The two ‘Road Runner’ trailers are reportedly equipped with BPW’s own Airlight II running gear and ECO disc brakes, as well as aluminium bumpers by BPW subsidiary Transport-Teknik that also serve as under-run guards.

Both units are also fitted with half-shell mudguards and anti-spray flaps made by BPW company, HBN-Teknik.

BPW brand Hestal supplied aluminium drop-side profiles for the curtain-sider bodywork as well as sliding pillars and curtains, on top of a sliding roof, roof lifting system and belt lift system.

Sovtrastavto also fitted both vehicles with trailer telematics technology by BPW brand, idem telematics.

“Telematics provides me with important information on the vehicle status. This enables me to plan the service and maintenance as efficiently as possible, ensuring the least possible downtimes and speedy return of the vehicles to the road”, explained Sergey Baklitskiy, Managing Director of Sovtrastavto and head of the Russian International Hauliers’ Association (ASMAP).

According to BPW, the company worked closely with eastern German OEM Fliegl to ensure the success of the project and will continue to assist Sovtrastavto as a ‘mobility partner’ down the track.
