Hellmann with new Executive Board and personnel change

Germany's Hellmann Worldwide Logistics has appointed a new Executive Board and welcomed Dr Thomas Knecht to its management team.

The new Executive Board is composed of a Management Board, which includes the two Owners, Jost Hellmann and Klaus Hellmann, the Managing Director and the directors for the Finance, Processes/Digitisation, Sales/Marketing and Human Resources departments.

The Management Board also includes its three divisions’ so-called ‘Product CEOs’, Juergen Burger, Road Transport, Jochen Freese, Air and Sea Freight and Felix Scherberich, Contract Logistics.

The Executive Board also consists of Carsten Fuhlendorf, CFO, and Chief People Officer, Frank Liebelt, who assumes the role as of January 1, 2016.

“The logistics industry, specifically the German and European markets have been impacted by intense competition and high margin pressures in recent years. We will lead the Hellmann group into the future with our new leadership organisation, with which we are more strongly focused on the market,” said Company Owner, Klaus Hellmann.

According to Hellmann, the newly-appointed Knecht (pictured) will be responsible for Strategy, Corporate Development and Legal & Compliance issues.

“We are very glad that Dr Knecht, whom we know well and value highly as an advisor to our company, has granted our request that he take on responsibility within the company. He will be working closely with us, the owners and the entire Executive Board,” said Hellmann Owner, Jost Hellmann.
