German OEM Kögel has unveiled a new, fully insulated asphalt tipper model.
The new Kögel model is compliant with Germany’s new road construction law, which has made thermally insulated transport equipment mandatory in a move to ensure the quality of asphalt deliveries in the country.
Equipped with an integrated five-point measuring system and a temperature display unit with printer, the new Kögel can boast a new thermosetting insulation material that is specially suited for the high-temperature range of up to 200°C.
A heat-resistant polyurethane sliding roof is used to keep the tipper bin covered.
“The heat characteristics of the fully insulated asphalt tipper exceed the values specified,” Kögel announced. “This ensures significantly increased temperature stability of the asphalt. “
The company also said that all previously sold Kögel tippers can be retrofitted when required. The full insulation including the measuring system adds about 350kg of weight to a tipper.
