Wabash to launch new Brenner tanker

Wabash National has announced the launch of a new, Brenner-branded fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) tank trailer designed to transport sulfuric acid in concentrations up to 98 per cent.

According to the US OEM, sulfuric acid has historically been a difficult product to transport, with previous FRP tanks only qualified to handle dilute sulfuric acid at concentrations below 93 per cent.

The ability to transport higher concentrations of sulfuric acid in a lightweight FRP tank trailer design reportedly provides an alternative to traditional stainless steel tank trailers, allowing for increased payload and an extended asset lifecycle.

Wabash National subsidiary Brenner developed the new FRP unit in conjunction with Poly-Coat Systems, a provider of non-metallic vessels for corrosive products based in Texas.

The new modelr will be on display at the National Tank Truck Carriers’ (NTTC) Tank Truck Week in Houston in November.
