Alcaline to invest in Schmitz Cargobull equipment

UK-based transport business Alcaline has taken on two FP25 dry freight box trailers from Schmitz Cargobull.

The new assets join the company’s fleet of 150 trailers and will be used to transport automotive parts between the UK, France and Italy, as well as steel coils and large metal parts between the UK and the Benelux countries.

Lorenzo Zaccheo, Managing Director, Alcaline, commented, “We’ve trusted Schmitz Cargobull for many years as our trailer supplier and when we wanted to expand our fleet, it was the obvious first choice.

“We know from experience that Schmitz Cargobull trailers give us … more flexibility in terms of payload, and we can rely on them for support wherever we are in Europe.”

Using Schmitz Cargobull’s new galvanised and bolted chassis for easy maintenance, the trailers run on Schmitz Cargobull’s own ROTOS running gear.

The trailers also incorporate ferry shackles to allow easy transportation between the UK and Europe.

Alcaline is based in Kent, with a subsidiary in the Netherlands and a satellite office in Turin, Italy.
