A year after launching the first Krone-branded trailer axle at the 2014 IAA Commercial Vehicle Show in Hanover, the German OEM has now exceeded the 10,000-unit mark.
“Our strategy to offer the ‘All-in-Krone-Trailer’ including our own Krone axle has proved to be the right approach. Our customers trust in the Krone brand and the axle too,” Managing Director Bernard Krone commented on the milestone.
“We are grateful for their confidence, as our axle represents a true matter of personal importance as far as I am concerned.”
The Krone axle is manufactured by Krone partner Gigant in Dinklage; the company has been part of the Krone Group since 2013.
According to Krone, the house-brand axle system with disk brakes is distinctive for its maintenance-free bearing unit (stepped hub unit, ed.) and “exceptionally lightweight” air-spring suspension arm with bolted clamping attachment”.
“A further plus are the homogeneous material characteristics from bearing seat to bearing seat, which ensure special stability,” said Krone.
“Since the introduction of the All-in-Krone-Trailer, Krone has succeeded in significantly extending its service portfolio,” Mr Krone added.
“For our customers’ benefit, we have lined up as an all-round service provider when it comes to trailers and the 10,000 Krone trailer axles – which have already been installed – are testament both to the acceptance of the axle in the market and to our ‘All-in-Krone-Trailer’ approach.”
