Tyre manufacturer Continental has developed two new trailer tyres with a high load capacity and improved service life combined with a lower diameter to meet the EU’s permitted height regulations.
The Conti Hybrid HT3 445/45 R 19.5 allows an axle load of nine tonnes and boast tyre contours that balance load distribution for an even wear pattern that helps ensure a long service life.
Continental has reportedly succeeded in cutting the rolling resistance of the new trailer tyres by 15 per cent compared with their predecessor. As a result, both tyres have been classified a “B” for fuel efficiency under the EU tyre label system.
According to Continental, the Conti Hybrid HT3 435/50 R 19.5 and Conti Hybrid HT3 445/45 R 19.5 trailer tyres’ contour and tread design make them robust, especially in the shoulder area, while the design of the inner tread grooves prevents stones from getting trapped.
