Palfinger expands jumbo range

Load handling specialist Palfinger has announced a new, larger addition to its Jumbo class of truck mounted cranes. The P550 model can boast a working height of 55 metres and a reach of 40 metres.

According to the Austrian company, the P550 takes the flexibility of the jumbo class NX to greater heights with an additional X-jib and basket rotation of 2 x 200 degrees – ensuring that the units are particularly movable. It can be controlled individually for especially precise positioning and offers a work area of 240 degrees.

“In the development of the P550, we made sure that we would not sacrifice any free mobility in offering this range,” said Yves Schlessiger, Product Manager of Palfinger Platforms.

Thanks to the sensitive proportional controls, even at especially great heights, the user can precisely direct the jib of the P550 for operations on buildings, masts or even beneath overhangs.

The reportedly “weight-optimised” construction with special profile structures from light but stable materials keeps the total weight of the truck as low as possible.

The new Palfinger access platform P550 will celebrate its world premiere at the Intermat Paris from 20 – 25 April.
