Demand for new commercial vehicles in the EU has increased for the second consecutive month, according to the latest report from European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA).
Total commercial vehicle registrations in February grew by 8.3%, totalling 135,778 units. According to the report, 17,185 of those were new heavy truck registrations, showing an 8.1 per cent increase from February 2013.
The report states that the positive outcome was mainly sustained by the significant growth recorded in the UK (+52.1 per cent), Spain (+48.9 per cent) and Italy (+15.2 per cent), while heavy truck registrations dropped in France (-14.8 per cent) and Germany (-9.3 per cent). Noteworthy was the contribution of the new EU member states (+19.5 per cent) to the month’s positive outcome.
