Schmitz Cargobull’s factory in Vreden, Germany, has won its second Automotive Lean Production Award in the ‘International Middle-Sized Company’ category.
Schmitz Cargobull was the only trailer brand to win the prestigious Award, which also went to OEMs like BMW, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, Bosch and Continental.
The Automotive Lean Production Award is based on the results of a global benchmark study performed by Automobil Produktion and Agamus Consult, which evaluates the implementation of lean principles in the respective factories.
“The lean activities in Vreden focus on employee integration. This is key to creating even more efficient and customer-oriented production processes,” commented Plant Manager Michael Timmermann at the Awards ceremony in Barcelona, Spain.
