Utility to include roll stability as a standard feature

US trailer manufacturer Utility has announced that as of January 2015, all new orders of the refrigerated 3000R model will include trailer roll stability protection as a standard feature.

Reportedly, Utility will be installing Bendix' TABS-6 Advanced with Bendix Trailer Roll Stability Program (TRSP). The system combines anti-lock braking (ABS) with a set of trailer sensors that monitor stability and can quickly and automatically trigger braking when detecting conditions that may lead to a trailer rollover.

According to Utility, the company is the first trailer manufacturer to include roll stability as standard on their refrigerated trailers.

“Trailer roll stability systems can dramatically improve a fleet’s safety, and we believe that the technology is ready to begin integrating this specification as a standard,” said Craig Bennett, Senior Vice President Sales & Marketing for Utility.
