1,480 tonne cargo transported by road in Malaysia

Malaysian freight forwarder Air Marine used two 24-axle Self-Propelled Modular Transporters (SPMTs) made by German heavy equipment specialist Scheuerle to transport a 1,480-tonne Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) absorber.

The planning and preparing for the 55.6 metre freight’s short trip from the Malaysian Bintulu port to the Petronas LNG production site took Air Marine nearly a whole year.

In order to fit the cargo, various street and public furniture needing to be dismantled and reinstalled, including removal of street signs, trees and lampposts.
