Czech fleet invests in rail vehicle transporter by Faymonville

Czech Republic company APB Pilzen has ordered two seven-axle flatbed MultiMAX low loaders from Belgian trailer manufacturer Faymonville, custom-built to transport rail vehicles.

Faymonville took into account that the width of a rail can differ depending on which country it is from and fitted the loading platforms of the trailers with rail guides. It is possible to choose variable rail widths of 1,000, 1,450 or 1,670 millimetres.

Both vehicles come with a hydraulic lift table and a lowerable rear extension for secure loading and unloading. According to Faymonville, The extensions can support up to 15 tonnes of payload and allow for fast assembly of a loading ramp with a maximum incline of 2.5 degrees.

The semi-trailers have been built with separation points between the gooseneck and landing platform so they can also be expanded with mountable extensions.

The new semi-trailers are fitted with offset axles, which reduce the loading height in driving position to 740 millimetres in order to remain below required heights for underpasses.
