Dutch supermarket chain Jumbo has signed an agreement with TIP Trailer Services for the on-going maintenance and management of its in-house fleet.
According to Dutch industry resource Trailertotaal, Jumbo has grown rapidly and is now supplying more than 450 stores in the Netherlands.
The three-year contract will see TIP Trailer Services perform both regular maintenance and more complex repair work for the Jumbo fleet, including out-of-the ordinary servicing and cleaning.
TIP will also assist Jumbo in administering the fleet and managing its subcontractor base, and also advise the retail company on the purchase of new equipment.
TIP told Trailertotaal it was proud to have won the contract and be able to show Jumbo how effective outsourcing the fleet management side of the business can be.
“About a year ago, we have embarked on a new course that should lead to sustainable growth, but only if customers like Jumbo recognize our expertise. In that sense, having Jumbo on board is valuable,” said Marco Kranenbroek, Regional Commercial Leader Benelux at TIP Trailer Services.
